Our Story
Introduction
Hello, my name is Arlene and I'm a passionate artist from Dundee. Ever since I can remember, I have had an interest in paint and paint effects, and I've always enjoyed the process of taking something old and giving it new life through painting. I loved upcycling old furniture and experimenting with different techniques to create unique pieces.
After pursuing a career in interior design, I graduated from the Interior Design Institute in 2021. However, when I was looking for artwork to decorate my own home, I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. That's when I decided to create my own piece, and it was during this process that I realized my true passion for art.
Today, I specialize in abstract textured art, creating beautiful and unique pieces that evoke emotion and inspire creativity. I am always exploring new techniques and materials to push the boundaries of what's possible with paint, and I'm constantly inspired by the world around me. When it comes to finding inspiration for my art, there's nothing quite like taking a walk in the woods with my dog by my side. Living in Scotland, I'm fortunate to be surrounded by some of the most breathtaking natural landscapes in the world, and I try to capture that beauty in my abstract textured art.
Each season brings its own unique palette of colours and textures, from the fresh greens of spring to the fiery oranges and reds of autumn. I love to take it all in, breathe in the fresh air and let the natural world inspire me.
Whether I'm admiring the rugged coastline, the rolling hills, or the dense forests, I'm constantly struck by the beauty of this country. It's a wild, rugged, and breathtakingly beautiful place, and I feel so lucky to be able to call it home.
For me, art is a way to capture the essence of the natural world and to share that sense of wonder and beauty with others. Each piece that I create is a celebration of the world around us and a reminder of the power and majesty of nature. I hope that my work can inspire others to see the world with fresh eyes and to appreciate the simple beauty that surrounds us every day.
